Many of us love the snow. Whether it is for building a snowman or to ski, the experience of being on it or just watching it is blissful for many. Today, BucketList.Asia is covering a resort for those who want to experience the same in a luxury environment.
We are going all the way to Japan(not literally – of course) to cover this resort which will turn ONE on 16 December 2018 (yes…its quite new). We are talking about the Lotte Arai Resort, which is part of the South Korean luxury hotel chain – Lotte Hotels & Resorts.
Located in Myoko City, the resort has the advantage of being in a region known for its snowfall and many onsen(hot springs). Speaking to BucketList.Asia, the resort said that the mountain on which it is located has the “has No.1 snowfall in Japan”. It further added that 84% of its ski slopes were ungroomed making it very special and that many skiers visited there to enjoy powder snow (also called Japow).
Speaking of accommodation, this family-friendly resort has 257 rooms. Its most luxurious offering (which we loved as per the pics) is the Presidential Suite. While staying in this room would lighten your wallet by JPY 70,000 per night, you would get a spacious room (319.4㎡ – now that’s HUGE) that can accommodate 5 people,a dining room and a kitchen. Oh wait – you also get a private Jacuzzi and amazing views of the Okenashiyama mountain and the surrounding area.
They have a lot of wonderful restaurants such as a bakery cafe, a lounge and an all-day dining as well.
The talking point of this resort however is definitely its activities/facilities. While skiing and snowboarding is definitely the crowd-puller, they have many other activities for guests who don’t do these. These include zip-lining, tubing, bouldering, a tree adventure, a kids room and a playground that is home to bouldering, a trampoline, and an indoor climbing wall.
Before we conclude, we would like to share a tip given out by the resort – “If you want to enjoy Japow, you should come here from Jan. to Feb.” – Now since these months are just around the corner – book your rooms (if possible the Presidential Suite) soon.
