Summer has arrived in many parts of Asia and most kids are likely to experience a month of two of summer vacations soon. So what best than to take your little ones to a kid friendly resort. We at BucketList.Asia did some research and were happy to find this hidden gem in Bali – a perfect family getaway resort that unlike others gives a lot of importance to kids.
Any guesses?? – Well it’s the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali. Opened in January 2017, the resort boasts of many features that make it kid-friendly. The one we loved most is their pirate themed Meera Kids Club that is spread across two-storeys.
Describing the same, the resort told BucketList.Asia “First floor area is the centre of the kids club’s activities suitable for toddler and younger children. Complemented by indoor playground with trampoline and ball pit, this is the place where the little ones could enjoy themselves. Amphitheatre with children movies and sleeping room is also available on the first floor for those who would like to recharge before their next activities.”
Oh wait – they are designed not just for the little tots but for teenagers as well. “Designed with safety factors, the second floor is an area for teenagers with bean bags and cosy environment where they can enjoy their free time activities with console games or get acquainted with other young travellers”, the resort said, before adding that kids have an option to enjoy healthy, fun and educational entertainment options.
Apart from this club, the resort also offers kids, activities such as children aerobics, yoga and stretching. Then, there is also said to be a few cultural activities along with an array of arts and crafts activities such as painting, jewelry and kite making. What more – these are all said to be organized within a dedicated child-safe play area. For kids who love water – there is a children’s pool that houses multiple activities to keep them busy.
It is not just about activities. The resort gives a lot of emphasis on food for kids as well!!! (After all a happy & full tummy is a must for kids to enjoy the huge number of activities here). The biggest highlight is their signature “Chocolate Hour”. They serve free chocolates everyday between from 4pm and 5pm. (Oh btw – this is not limited to just kids but to all the adults staying here as well …yaaa). Coming to breakfast – the resort offers children fairly healthy serving of fruit, Bircher muesli, fruit compotes, selection of nuts and healthy cereals. (now that should act as a supercharge for them).
So much for the kids….Oh wait, the resort takes pretty good care of parents/adults as well. Take breakfast for instance. They get to enjoy about 120 items – hot, cold, sweet, savoury, spicy and salty across cuisines such as traditional western style dishes such as sausages and bacon to several Asian varieties including Indonesian, Indian, Thai and Vietnamese. (Wow ..now that’s a spread fit for a King)
They have 5 different restaurants –so one is spoilt for choice when it comes to their lunch and dinner options. Don’t forget to try out their Chef’s personal favorite – the “Bebek Betutu” – a traditional Balinese duck dish which is whole duck roasted inside banana leave, whilst been previously marinated in aromatic blend of Balinese spices, galangal, garlic, turmeric and cassava leaves.
Its not just about the food. The resort also offers some exotic drinks, that are carefully prepared under the supervision of their Beverage Manager – Mr. Eka Mahartika, who is said to hold an international experience along with a worldwide certification WSET level 2 on wine and spirits. His creations is said to range from funky nonalcoholic drinks, twist of vintage classic cocktails, smash, sours, Movenpick healthy shot among others. A must-have signature drink of the resort is said to be ‘Spice it up’ – a home grown black chili, lemongrass, kaffir lime and leaf spike with Balinese arak (an ancient Balinese beverage) that is sweetened by coconut liqueur. (Now this is a drink we would love to have!!!)
With regards to the activities, parents can spend some time in the nearby beach or in the resorts huge pool. Those who love shopping or enjoy massages can visit the Samasta Lifestyle Village, a venue that is integrated to the hotel.
Now moving on to the titbits, the resort is located just 15 kilometers from the Ngurah Rai International Airport. It houses 297 rooms and suites across 7 categories with their Jimbaran Pool Suite being their most luxurious offering.
Speaking on the same the resort told BucketList.Asia – “Named after the spectacular area where the resort is located, our Jimbaran Pool Suites are the largest suites at 108 sqm, and they boast incredible views over the Indian Ocean from the spacious private balconies. The private swimming pools also add another element of luxury. With separate seating areas, dining rooms, king-size beds, and opulent bathrooms, the Suites are perfect for honeymooners, families, or those who want a stylish spot. Comfortable sun loungers make for great spots to relax and the mesmerizing views from the balcony are sure to impress even the most seasoned travellers.”
With regards to the ambience, the resort was designed by Hadiprana Artwork Designer for family and leisure featuring extensive facilities and modern design. According to the resort, every single inch of designs and details of the resort has a theme co-related with the nature’s elements. For instance, the lobby is said to have a wind theme, while the restaurant is said to have the water theme with the function area bearing the metal theme.
To conclude – we loved writing about this beautiful resort. And we are pretty sure you enjoyed reading it as well. Do put this on your BucketList – as we are sure it would be one super memorable experience for both you and your kids!!
