Raffles, the hotel brand which is synonymous with luxury is back in the news. And this time around, it is for opening a 72-storey property in Shenzen, the modern metropolis located in in southeastern China.
Launched on 16th May, Raffles Shenzen is strategically located in One Shenzhen Bay. It not only includes its luxury hotel but also the Sky Concert Hall, which has been certified as the highest music hall in the world, on the 71st floor; a Raffles brand residence; a helipad; class A office space; a renowned car showroom; international clubs and much more.
The luxury hotel consists of 168 guestrooms and suites that are both meticulously appointed and generous in terms of its layout. Dubai’s LW Design, the company behind the hotel’s interior design is said to have done up the rooms, in a way that one can witness a combination of Chinese cultural elements with coastal views. So while the interiors of the rooms are finished with neutral shades to inspire serenity, accented by pops of natural hues in area rugs, cushions and throws, the view for guests is made sure to be of breathtaking scenic Shenzhen Bay and Hong Kong beyond.
Apart from the rooms, Raffles Shenzhen has also taken a lot of importance to the dining aspect. It includes six signature restaurants and bars, each enhanced by panoramic views. While, the ‘RUI Lounge’ boasts Raffles’ acclaimed and unsurpassed Afternoon Tea, guests here can also enjoy a selection of signature wine and champagne. They are also spoilt for breakfast options that feature Chinese and Japanese flavors with subtle western touches, lunches that are distinctively Asian and sea food for dinner.
Meanwhile, ‘Sky Cafe’, the all-day dining provides a sophisticated experience with unique flair through its interactive live cooking stations.
Our favorite, the ‘Long Bar’ is where one can enjoy a conversation alongside outstanding mixology and delectable nibbles against the picturesque landscape of Shenzhen Bay and Hong Kong.
The fourth option is ‘Kokoni’, an exquisite Japanese restaurant that offers elegant kaiseki, premium steaks, sushi and sashimi. The added USP here is that this restaurant is headed by resident Japanese master chef.
Meanwhile, for those who love to dine high in the sky, Raffles Shenzen, has ‘Yun Jing’. Located on the 70th floor, this classic Cantonese restaurant features fresh local ingredients.
Then, finally, you have the ‘Raffles Patisserie’ which is akin to an art gallery, where one can enjoy an extensive selection of handcrafted delicacies including chocolates, macaroons, truffles, cakes and pastries. With so many options, one is set to be spoilt for choice.
Apart from this, the latest property from Raffles houses 3,000 sqm. of event spaces including a column free grand ballroom and eight multi-function halls, the award-winning Raffles Spa and a Fitness Center that comes with an indoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a vitality pool and a sauna.
