Samsung brings to India the world’s first QLED 8K TV. This definitely needs to be in your home, provided you can afford it!!

Content, that too in video format, has become most sought after by people across the world and what better way to view it than on an awesome television set. And making the best of the demand, Samsung India, has today launched the world’s first QLED 8K TV in the country.

Yes, 4k is now passé!! The latest 8K TVs come with Real 8K Resolution, 8K AI Upscaling, Quantum Processor 8K, and Quantum HDR. As per the company’s press release, these have been created to provide a stunning 8K experience.

So what about the content? Do we have the 8K content to enjoy this 8K TV? Well according to the company, “Samsung’s proprietary 8K AI Upscaling technology based on machine learning upscales picture and sound quality to 8K regardless of the original source quality or format. Whether a user is watching content through a streaming service, set-top box, HDMI, USB or even mobile mirroring, the Quantum Processor 8K recognizes and up-scales the content to appear in 8K quality.”

So to sum up – Irrespective of the resolution of the source content, these TV’s deliver improved brightness, picture quality and sound optimized for each scene, meaning they transform any content into 8K.  (Now, how cool is that!!)

And, no, this is not the only cool feature in this TV. There are many more. For starters, these TVs have a Far Field Voice Capability feature on the One Remote Control. This allows consumers to use voice commands to control their TV from across the room. Another nice feature, which the company claims to be an industry first, is that the Korean multination will offer iTunes Movies and TV Shows and Apple AirPlay 2 support on these TVs.

Another feature we really liked is the Ambient mode. This will enable the TV to double up as an interactive wall. Users will be able to apply an interactive background to the virtually bezel-less TV frame. They can also make it display weather conditions, time and other such information or even display artistic content like photos and works of art, when it is not in use.

All these features and especially their design would definitely want you to have one in your home. The big question is however, can you afford it!!?? While their 75inch model is priced at INR 10,99,900, their 82inch one is priced at INR 16,99,900. Oh and before we forget, they also have a 98-inch made to order variant that is priced at INR 59,99,900!! Yup that’s right, one would get a 2BHK apartment in Bengaluru & other Indian cities for this price but then again it is 8K….so if you can afford it, do go and buy it!!
